Job Description

Overview:

The Nutrition Services Ambassador is accountable for overseeing the meal service for patients on a daily basis to ensure they are provided with meals that are correct and advantageous for their wellness. Reporting to a direct supervisor, this position assists in acquiring the patient's meal preferences and processing the orders to ensure they are suitable for the patient's specific health needs. Additionally, any patient concerns are communicated to the relevant clinical dietitian for further support.

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves the patient's food selections and manages tray receipts in line with the patient's designated dietary regimen.
  • Supports in managing customer and patient meal orders and verifying adherence to special dietary needs to ensure excellence in food service.
  • Ensures conformity with dietary orders during visits to patients for meal planning or delivery.
  • Supplies accurate food and beverages to patients in accordance with their dietary plans to deliver essential nourishment.
  • Assisting in the assembly of food trays, delivery of food trays, and removal of food trays from units after meals with speed and efficiency.
  • Helps in monitoring meal distributions, cashier reports, and inventory levels to ensure accurate inventory updates and thorough documentation of business operations.
  • Any issues raised by patients are reported to the clinical dietitian, such as educational needs or insufficient meal consumption, to ensure the patient's care is adequate.
  • Facilitates communication between patient care units to strengthen the relationship between a patient's nutrition and health status.
  • Completes tasks beyond the normal scope of work.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:Required: 0-2 years of experience
