Job Description

Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician Coordinator manages and arranges pharmacy programs throughout different campuses to secure the efficient and precise performance of the pharmacy sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the coordination of work tasks within a pharmacy program by ensuring that established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards are met.
  • Teams up with pharmacy personnel and other healthcare providers to deliver support and help in medication supervision and patient care.
  • Supports and trains pharmacy staff to enhance their professional skills and encourage compliance with top-tier standards and guidelines.
  • Maintains precise record-keeping and documentation for pharmacy operations, encompassing tasks like dispensing medications, overseeing inventory, and organizing patient information.
  • Executes other obligations as demanded or delegated.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Associate degree in pharmacy technology or other healthcare related degree

EXPERIENCE:

Required: At least 7 years of experience working in a comparable pharmacy setting

Preferred: Leadership experience and involvement in regulatory compliance activities or oversight

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Pharmacy technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire.

Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Advanced Certification (i.e. Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention, Medication History, Hazardous Drug Management, etc.) in the area the technician coordinates within 12 months of starting the role.
