Job Description
Managing the overall health and operations of 5-8 practices or 25-39 providers, which can include a mix of primary care and specialized practices, falls under the role of the Practice Administrator II. In considering the complexity of practices, the focus may shift towards practices that have multiple specialized areas with intricate procedures or modalities, rather than solely looking at the number of locations and providers involved. One of the primary responsibilities of the Practice Administrator II is to establish strong leadership at each site and to oversee that the practice is meeting or surpassing performance targets for a majority of essential metrics relating to objectives and financial aspects.
Essential Job Function
- Improves patient satisfaction and practice revenue through the optimization of provider templates, elimination of barriers to provider productivity, and enhancement of patient-facing time to maximize access availability and volumes.
- Upholds standard staffing levels, promotes team involvement, and authorizes teams to handle daily challenges and obstacles, collaborating with the Director in the recruitment of providers and timely resolution of provider-related problems.
- Collaborates with the Director and providers to discuss provider contracts, exhibiting a strong comprehension of Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) and its implications on reimbursement and remuneration, ultimately boosting provider rapport and enhancing the financial performance of the practice.
- Oversees the implementation of internal guidelines, procedures, and legal mandates across various business divisions to uphold a superior level of patient service and operational proficiency.
- Works alongside site leaders to develop performance measures for each business unit concerning TNM, striving for ongoing refinement in patient care and operational productivity by promptly addressing any deficiencies in metrics through process optimization and corrective interventions.
- Ensures the fulfillment of monetary objectives in the business sectors, routinely reviewing financial records, applying corrective measures for discrepancies, supervising accurate financial practices, including cash management, invoicing, categorization, revenue stream, and taking responsibility for revenue outcomes, involving strategies to boost revenue and account receivables.
- Completes tasks as directed by a superior.
Education
- Required: Associate Degree preferably in business, finance or healthcare related field OR High School Diploma with 7 years healthcare operational experience, 5 of which are in leadership and certification.
- Preferred: BS in Nursing or BS/BA in Healthcare Administration.
Experience
- Required: 4 years in medical practice total, 3 years of practice leadership experience. Without a degree, must have 7 years healthcare operational experience, 5 of which are in healthcare management or healthcare leadership role and certification.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Completion of MGMA Principles Practice Management Certificate or Practice Management Institute CMOM certification within 90 days of hire. If No degree, must have CMPE or CMOM at time of hire.
