Overview:
In the Registered Nurse RN Float position, nurses are tasked with providing flexible nursing services that span multiple units and departments based on the specific needs at hand. Displaying adaptability, incumbents collaborate with different healthcare teams to offer comprehensive patient care, promoting seamless transfers and upholding quality standards in varied clinical settings.
Responsibilities:
- Seamlessly navigates between different nursing departments to offer well-rounded care and assistance in diverse medical situations.
- Engaging in teamwork with a variety of interdisciplinary teams, doctors, and support staff to offer patient-focused care and maintain open lines of communication across departments.
- Carries out detailed appraisals of patients' conditions and necessities, creating customized care blueprints based on individual diagnoses and medical backgrounds.
- Acts quickly in emergencies and critical situations, delivering prompt nursing care and support to stabilize individuals in need of urgent assistance.
- Aids in coordinating patient placements, admissions, and transitions, applying knowledge of bed management and capacity utilization to enhance patient flow within the healthcare facility.
- Undertakes other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year as a registered nurse
Preferred: 1 year of clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
- Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
- BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
- If working in a critical care area, ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.
