Overview:
The responsibilities of the Chaplain Non-Certified include delivering spiritual advice and pastoral support to patients and their families, while being closely supervised. By integrating elements of psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology, these practitioners strive to provide solace and encouragement to individuals from a variety of faith traditions and cultural contexts.
Responsibilities:
Offers ongoing spiritual and emotional care to patients through regular visitations.
Assesses the spiritual needs of patients and their families and offers consultation with care and efficiency.
Takes down notes for the healthcare staff and offers suggestions for boosting the patient's outlook and emotional support.
Engages with religious figures or spiritual counselors to address the spiritual needs of patients and their family members upon inquiry.
Provides emotional and spiritual backing for employees at Cone Health.
Curates and updates a collection of nearby community services for spiritual and religious assistance.
Participates in hospital committees and interdisciplinary endeavors as assigned to advance the objectives of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department.
Provides consultation services and educational presentations to aid the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Employee Assistance Counseling Program upon request.
Undertakes any other assigned obligations.
