Job Description
The Paramedic role reviews emergency medical systems and provides support in emergency medical situations. Working under general supervision for routine situations, this position manages critical patient care and emergency response, and ensures timeliness of reports and documentation.
Essential Job Function:
- Assesses emergency medical systems and protocols to ascertain their proper functionality and compliance with approved standards.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of emergency medical services to assure quality records.
- Handles employee questions and troubleshoots problems that require policy interpretation to provide advice and resolve issues.
- Coaches provide guidance and encouragement to less experienced professionals to help them excel in their roles.
- Possesses a deep expertise in emergency medical protocols, treatments, and technologies for the delivery of proficient patient care.
- Executes any other responsibilities as allocated.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- ED/Occ Health: Required: 1 year of Paramedic experience Carelink.
- Required: 3 years of EMS paramedic experience Carelink Transport positions, must have 3 years of EMS paramedic or critical care transport paramedic experience. Carelink relief paramedics must have 5 years of EMS paramedic experience & 1 year of critical care transport experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current valid NC Paramedic certification BLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS). American Red Cross or Healthcare Provider, Valid Driver's License. If driving a CH vehicle must have minimum 5 years as a valid licensed driver with MVR must be approved by Risk Management. Emergency Vehicle Operator's course completed within 1 year of hire.
