Job Description
Overview:
The Pre Service Specialist is responsible for handling pre-registration and financial clearance tasks before the patient's appointment. This position involves verifying patient details and insurance information, securing pre-certification or authorization when needed, and inputting all relevant data into the electronic system of the institution. Operating under close supervision, the Pre Service Specialist also plays a vital role in communicating the estimated patient responsibility, collecting any due payments, recognizing individuals requiring financial aid, and directing them to financial advisory services when appropriate. The working hours for this role are Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Accessing pre-scheduled patient records to finalize financial clearance procedures with the aim of minimizing financial liabilities by confirming the validity of existing authorizations, gathering patient payments, and recognizing requirements for financial aid.
- Reaches out to the individual to gather or confirm personal information and insurance details.
- Gathers and records the necessary pre-certification/authorization details if they are accessible.
- Makes sure that the provider's office has started the necessary steps to acquire a referral or authorization if it is not already in the insurance records.
- Verifies insurance coverage and checks eligibility while recording patient responsibility.
- Relays concerns or possible challenges related to customer support and identifies chances for enhancing processes to the higher-ups.
- Carries out additional tasks as required.

- 1 year of experience.
