Overview:
The Nursing Technician assists the Registered Nurse by monitoring and documenting patient conditions. This position involves helping patients with daily activities and encouraging mobility under the supervision of the nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Supports patients by helping them with daily living activities, like eating, personal hygiene, and improving physical movement to aid in their recovery and treatment plan.
- Analyzes patients' well-being in relation to their dietary choices, fluids intake, and excretory processes to organize resources efficiently and forecast upcoming patient demands.
- Coordinates the admittance, shifting, and dismissal of patients to relocate them to the suitable spots based on the care strategy.
- Assists in clinical tasks by overseeing blood glucose levels, documenting key vital signs, conducting EKG tests, applying restraints, and tending to toileting needs to fulfill patients' care requirements effectively.
- Aids in managing unit resources of supplies and medical gear to safeguard a tidy and secure space in alignment with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Verifies that patients prone to falling are equipped with suitable arm bands, socks, and signage to promote their physical well-being.
- Assists in recording all medical procedures, patient engagements, and drug administration to uphold a comprehensive patient record.
- Acts quickly on tasks delegated by registered nurses and exchanges patient notes to promote seamless cooperation.
- Undertakes supplementary assignments as instructed.

Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
