Job Description
In supporting the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician Plus 3 is responsible for documenting patient observations and providing assistance with activities of daily living, along with aiding in patient mobilization while under close supervision.
Essential Job Function:
- Helps individuals in carrying out basic tasks on a day-to-day basis, such as eating meals, tending to personal hygiene, and advancing their ability to move around, all to contribute to their well-being and treatment strategy.
- Assesses the overall health status of patients with regards to their nutritional intake, hydration levels, and elimination patterns to forecast and address their needs accordingly.
- Manages the admission, transfer, and release of individuals to ensure they are placed in suitable settings based on their care plans.
- Provides assistance with patient elimination tasks through services like ostomy care, enema provision, and the utilization of condom catheters to enhance their comfort.
- Aids in the upkeep of unit inventories of supplies and equipment to guarantee a sanitary and secure environment aligning with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Confirming that patients with a propensity for falling have been provided with the appropriate armbands, socks, and indicators to protect their physical safety.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 6 months of related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
