Overview:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner holds the responsibility of evaluating individuals with respiratory ailments, performing diagnostic examinations, creating therapy strategies, and delivering respiratory treatments. This position manages medical equipment, monitors patient reactions, and offers urgent care as necessary. Collaborating with healthcare groups, this role oversees respiratory illnesses, enhances pulmonary function, and promotes patient welfare. While receiving moderate supervision, this position also instructs patients on respiratory wellness and methods for preventing diseases.

Responsibilities:
Enhances the patient's lung capacity and reduces discomfort through the implementation of prescribed respiratory treatments.
Provides top-notch care through the administration of pulmonary function tests, analyzing and interpreting assessments and test outcomes, and developing respiratory therapy plans in collaboration with doctors and as per their orders.
Aiding individuals in following their treatment regimen by giving inhalants, managing mechanical breathing machines, using equipment for administering therapeutic gases, overseeing environmental control devices, and operating devices that produce aerosols.
Delivers respiratory therapy care through activities like bronchopulmonary drainage procedures, aiding in breathing techniques, and observing the body's reactions to treatment, including vital signs and blood gas levels.
Assessing the impact of the respiratory therapy treatment by observing, recording, and assessing the patient's improvement and suggesting modifications as needed.
Facilitates the finalization of discharge plans through collaboration with doctors, nurses, social workers, and additional healthcare staff, participating in discussions related to patient care.
Ensures the maintenance of the treatment plan post-discharge through the creation of personalized home workout routines and guiding patients, families, and caregivers on how to properly execute these exercises at home.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care as an RRT
Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRT;
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must obtain RRT within 6 months of employment to the licensure section
