Job Description
The RN Float position entails delivering adaptable nursing assistance across multiple units and departments as the situation demands, requiring collaboration with different healthcare teams to provide holistic patient care, guaranteeing smooth handovers and upholding high standards in a variety of clinical contexts.
Essential Job Function:
- Smoothly transitions from one nursing unit to another, ensuring consistent and comprehensive care is provided in different medical settings.
- Engages in teamwork with interdisciplinary groups, physicians, and support members to offer patient-centered services and promote seamless communication throughout various sections.
- Performs in-depth analyses of patients' health statuses and necessities, creating customized care approaches that align with individual medical assessments and histories.
- Responds swiftly to unexpected incidents and high-pressure scenarios, giving immediate nursing aid and care to help stabilize patients.
- Helps with organizing patient placements, admissions, and transfers, using understanding of bed distribution and capacity planning to maintain an ideal patient flow throughout the medical institution.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a registered nurse.
- Preferred: 1 year of clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. If working in a critical care area, ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.
