Job Description
Overview:
The CV Sonographer Outpatient Dual Registered II conducts non-invasive tests on blood vessels and the heart to detect any vascular or cardiac issues, with oversight from the department head. They prioritize exceptional customer care, promoting safety, patient choices, and clear communication by collaborating effectively with patients, families, and co-workers, as well as other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Carries out regular and specific tests following prescribed procedures to ensure high-quality diagnostic results.
Examines test results and effectively conveys conclusions to attending cardiologists to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment strategy development and promote smooth teamwork between the sonographer and cardiologists.
Administers, diagnoses issues with, and seeks maintenance for all examination machinery to guarantee precise and dependable examination outcomes and uphold patient well-being and effective operations.
Upholds professional standards and CPR certification to comply with industry requirements and stay prepared to handle potential cardiac crises.
Conducts IV placement and stays up to date with IV proficiency on a yearly schedule. Gives image-enhancing substance as directed to enhance the echocardiogram's quality.
It is necessary to finish four challenging tasks as specified on the career advancement plan within the department.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 3 years of experience in each registry
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT-VS) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider.
Meets 4 of the career ladder requirements as outlined by the departmental career ladder document.
