Overview:
The Manager Clinical Laboratory oversees the general functioning and quality standards of a clinical laboratory or designated clinical section, ensuring accurate and prompt delivery of test results, adherence to regulatory requirements, and implementation of quality enhancement initiatives. A part from managing financial aspects, this position involves supervising staff, providing training, and assessing equipment and protocols to optimize laboratory operations and provide reliable testing services for patient well-being and safety.
Responsibilities:
Instructs and upholds regulations concerning the management, examination, inquiry, and documentation for proficiency testing (PT) to guarantee compliance with accrediting bodies' standards.
Oversees the human resources and payroll responsibilities of the laboratory, which involves tasks such as developing staffing strategies, conducting performance reviews, providing guidance and support to employees, and managing payroll records for adherence to regulations and streamlined staffing operations.
Manages and supervises laboratory operations and personnel to uphold quality, output, and accreditation criteria by conducting regular departmental inspections and supervision.
Engages in quality checks, upkeep routines, and assurance tasks to guarantee efficient functioning of testing equipment in the laboratory, alongside proactively pursuing enhancements in procedures.
Contributes to financial planning by offering insights for budgeting, assessment, supervision, and executing necessary adjustments to fulfill financial objectives at both departmental and organizational levels.
Ensures adherence to regulatory guidelines from organizations such as CLIA, CAP, TJC, FDA, and AABB through continuous awareness of standards and engagement in compliance assessments.
Provides support, help, and instruction to employees regarding protocols, issue resolution, critical thinking, and yearly proficiency in specified test systems to promote a proficient and capable staff in the laboratory.
Executes additional tasks as required.
