Overview:
The Manager of Government Affairs oversees the government interactions and legislative initiatives across various levels of governance to enhance proactive communication, cultivate grassroots advocacy, and fortify connections between Cone Health executives and government representatives. This role assists the director by overseeing policy changes, bolstering advocacy campaigns, and addressing individual and public concerns raised by government officials.
Responsibilities:
Supervises the organization's communication strategy to keep government officials and Cone Health employees updated on important matters and creates content and resources to guarantee precise and uniform communication for fostering strong relationships.
Developing and enhancing a grassroots advocacy network comprised of both leadership and staff members, to cultivate direct connections with elected officials and drive grasstops advocacy initiatives, ultimately bolstering the organization's ability to shape policy outcomes.
Facilitates the coordination of meetings and tours for organization representatives to interact with government officials, influential figures, and stakeholders, overseeing all aspects of planning and communication to foster effective connections and networking.
Monitors policy and regulatory changes across different government levels to offer analysis for guiding strategic choices and advocacy initiatives.
Collaborates with internal staff to engage in advocacy efforts at various governmental levels, cultivating authentic connections with pertinent parties and groups to promote cooperation within industry associations.
Conducts research and addresses individual and community concerns on behalf of elected representatives.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
