Job Description
The Nursing Technician Plus 3 collaborates with the Registered Nurse to document patient data and deliver hands-on care and support for daily tasks and mobility exercises with patients while being closely supervised.
Essential Job Function:
- Assists patients in managing essential daily tasks, like eating, self-care, and progressive movement, to facilitate their recuperation and treatment plan.
- Assesses patients' quality of life related to their dietary choices, fluid intake, and waste elimination to ensure appropriate distribution of resources and proactive planning for patient needs.
- Arranges for the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients to match their care goals and treatment needs.
- Assists patients with their elimination needs by facilitating ostomy care, administering enemas, and implementing condom catheters to promote their comfort and care.
- Assists in managing unit inventories of supplies and equipment to maintain a clean and secure environment in line with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Validating the presence of adequate armbands, socks, and signals for patients identified as prone to falling, ensuring their physical safety.
- Carries out any other assignments as mandated.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 6 months of related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
