Job Description
Overview:
The Paramedic role reviews emergency medical systems and provides support in emergency medical situations. Working under general supervision for routine situations, this position manages critical patient care and emergency response, and ensures timeliness of reports and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews emergency medical systems and protocols to maintain their proper operation and alignment with established norms.
- Ensures that records and reports pertaining to emergency medical services are accurate and completed in a timely manner to uphold quality standards.
- Resolves staff concerns and inquiries by interpreting policies to offer guidance and solutions.
- Coaches assist less experienced workers in fostering their growth and development.
- Maintains a high level of expertise in emergency medical procedures, treatments, and technologies to deliver effective patient care.
- Undertakes further duties as delegated.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
ED/Occ Health: Required: 1 year of Paramedic experience
Carelink: Required: 3 years of EMS paramedic experience
Carelink Transport positions, must have 3 years of EMS paramedic or critical care transport paramedic experience.
Carelink relief paramedics must have 5 years of EMS paramedic experience & 1 year of critical care transport experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
Current valid NC Paramedic certification
BLS (CPR-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
ACLS - American Red Cross or Healthcare Provider
Valid Driver's License If driving a CH vehicle must have minimum 5 years as a valid licensed driver with MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
Carelink: Emergency Vehicle Operator's course completed within 1 year of hire
