Job Description
The Physical Therapist II evaluates the conditions of patients, devises individualized care plans, and administers therapeutic measures to enhance their functional capabilities. Within their clinical setting, this position can efficiently manage all patients and fulfill all physical therapy responsibilities with little supervision. They are proactive in collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, providing confident care to familiar patients, and advocating for the best interests of their patients and team. Operating independently is essential in their primary role while possibly requiring support in complex scenarios and transitions to other environments.
Essential Job Function:
- Offers evaluations and treatments for diverse diagnoses and challenging patient conditions.
- Evaluates patients thoroughly to determine their physical capabilities, medical backgrounds, and functional restrictions for tailored treatment plans.
- Designs and implements therapeutic exercises and various interventions in physical therapy aimed at enhancing patients' muscle strength, flexibility, and joint mobility.
- Instructs patients and their families on treatment procedures, at-home physical activities, and self-care strategies to foster better rehabilitation results.
- Collaborates with a team to develop and carry out discharge plans and suggestions for sustained care.
- Tracks and records patients' development, treatment effectiveness, and reactions to interventions in order to make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborates with teams across departments to ensure integrated patient care and well-rounded treatment effectiveness.
- Supports in the orientation and training of new team members, illustrating a persistent effort to enhance the performance and expertise of fellow workers.
- Carries out various responsibilities as required.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
Experience
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
