Job Description
Overview:
The Psychiatric Physician employed by Cone Health is given the opportunity to work in diverse clinical scenarios, which may include inpatient or outpatient settings, as well as hybrid roles on a full-time, part-time, or relief basis. They also have the option to practice at different sites within the Cone Health system, such as the Behavioral Health Hospital, Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center, and outpatient facilities located in Greensboro, Kernersville, Reidsville, and Burlington. It is the responsibility of the Cone Health Psychiatrist to provide excellent patient care and meet all clinical obligations.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining accurate records according to MCHS policies, relevant laws, and regulations is vital.
Involvement in developing clinical guidelines, procedures, programs, and suggesting improvements to enhance care quality and efficiency is encouraged.
Sharing on-call duties when needed with other physicians from the designated areas is also part of the role.
The role involves coordinating services for various teams within specific areas, providing guidance and mentoring to psychiatry residents and students within Cone Health.
The individual is tasked with making independent judgments in diagnosing and treating patients, developing treatment plans, and leading the interdisciplinary team (advanced practice providers) in achieving patient care goals.
Upholding and modeling professional standards, as outlined by MCHS, including the Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence commitments, practice standards, physician expectations, and professional image standards, is a key aspect.
Participating in activities like medical audits, quality improvement programs, investigations, peer reviews, and inquiries related to professional care standards is also a requirement.
Continuously striving for improvement and utilizing evidence-based practices to achieve top-notch healthcare and service quality, aiming for outcomes in the 90th percentile or higher, is essential.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in Psychiatry (Fellowship training for child-adolescent).
- North Carolina Medical License.
- North Carolina Drug Enforcement Administration License.
