Job Description
The Telecommunications Operator supports the responses to various internal and external telephone inquiries for information and direction to provide superior customer service. Working under close supervision, this position facilitates the distribution of various forms of information in emergency situations. This part time position will be at Wesley Long Hospital the majority of the time, with working at other locations as needed. (within Cone Health) The shifts will be 3p-11p when working on weekdays and 11a-7p every other weekend.
Essential Job Function:
- Functions as the primary responder for incoming calls, ensuring the swift and precise delivery of patient data.
- Contributes to the maintenance and operation of communication systems like telephone switchboards, radio, and emergency broadcast setups.
- Utilizes paging or interoffice devices to contact individuals and direct them to relevant resources for their concerns.
- Transmits critical messages received via written or verbal communication to offer pertinent details to those assisting in emergencies.
- Using technology to carry out data input or word processing activities consists of updating directories and typing or proofreading documents.
- Helps to manage the coordination of meetings and staffing by arranging schedules for internal parties.
- Carries out any other assigned responsibilities.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year.
