Job Description

Overview:

The Cone Health Heart and Vascular Service Line delivers thorough and top-notch cardiovascular healthcare, encompassing diagnostic, interventional, and surgical treatments, all upheld by state-of-the-art tools and a diverse team of specialists.

We are looking for a driven and meticulous Intern to assist with the operational, clinical, and strategic projects in the Heart and Vascular Service Line. This internship provides a chance to learn about healthcare management, enhancing quality, clinical processes, and patient care approaches in a dynamic cardiovascular services setting.

This internship opportunity is a temporary role that is limited by time, commencing with an orientation scheduled for September 15, 2025. The duration of this position allows for a maximum of 250 hours of work to be completed by the intern within this time frame.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in gathering and evaluating clinical and operational data to enhance quality improvement initiatives
  • Support in the advancement and execution of initiatives focused on patient care services, community engagement, and educational resources
  • Join in service line gatherings and cooperate with interdisciplinary groups (nursing staff, doctors, management)
  • Accompany clinical personnel discreetly to comprehend the management of patient movement and organization of healthcare delivery
  • Aid in crafting presentations, documents, and data visualizations for executive evaluation
  • Perform thorough examinations of existing literature and compare against industry standards in heart and vascular care to identify best practices
  • Participate in strategic efforts like designing new programs, engaging with the community, and improving patient satisfaction

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, Biology, or related field preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interest in cardiovascular healthcare and healthcare operations
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
