Job Description
Overview:
In addition to assessing patient's conditions, occupational therapists plan, coordinate, and take part in rehabilitation programs that help patients with illnesses or injuries regain their maximum functional abilities, improve mobility, reduce pain, build strength, and lessen or prevent deformities. They also educate patients and their families. In order to improve patients' capacity to meet mutually agreed-upon functional goals, this role employs evidence-based modalities and competent interventions to implement care plans. Results pertaining to the assessment and care plan are tracked and assessed in this role. In order to perform the necessary professional duties, the occupational therapist I needs direction and mentoring.
Responsibilities:
Assists in evaluating patient's physical capabilities, medical history, and functional limitations to devise personalized treatment plans.
Delivers interventions in occupational therapy to enhance patients' flexibility, strength, and range of motion through therapeutic exercises and other modalities.
To improve recovery outcomes, patients and their family members are taught about treatment strategies, exercises that can be done at home, and techniques for self-management.
Effective discharge planning involves consultation with other members of the healthcare team and may require some support to execute recommended actions.
Records the patient's progress, treatment outcomes, and reaction to interventions, to enable modifications as required and ensures a successful treatment outcome.
A coordinated effort by teams across different departments helps to achieve synergistic and all-encompassing patient care.

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
