Job Description
Overview:
Assisting the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician observes and records patient conditions. With supervision, this position aids in patient mobility and completes daily tasks.
Responsibilities:
Assists individuals with their everyday living needs, such as eating, hygiene, and increasing mobility, to help with their rehabilitation and care plans.
Determines the well-being of patients pertaining to their nutrition, hydration, and excretion functions, with a focus on resource allocation and predicting their future demands.
The act of admitting, transferring, and discharging patients is essential to properly placing them in the necessary areas according to their care plan.
As a medical aide, one's responsibilities encompass a wide range of clinical procedures that aim to provide patients with high-quality care. These procedures include monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, acquiring EKG's, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs. Ultimately, the goal of these tasks is to ensure that patients are comfortable and receiving the necessary care they require.
The task of preserving unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment guarantees a hygienic and secure atmosphere which aligns with the National Patient Safety Goals.
Verifies that individuals who are vulnerable to falls are equipped with suitable arm bands, socks, and signs to promote their physical well-being.
To keep a comprehensive patient record, it is crucial to document every clinical procedure, medication administration, and patient communication.
Acknowledges and acts promptly on delegated tasks from registered nurses, promoting seamless teamwork and efficient patient care.
Carries out additional tasks as designated.

Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: None
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR.
Nurse Aide Certification required.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
