Job Description
Overview:
The role of Nursing Secretary NT I Plus 3 involves assisting the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions and providing aid with daily tasks and mobility when required.
Responsibilities:
- Aids patients with basic living activities, such as meal provision, personal hygiene assistance, and assisting in the improvement of their mobility to facilitate their recuperation and care regimen.
- Assesses patients' overall quality of life with regards to their nutritional status, hydration levels, and waste removal to ensure appropriate distribution of resources and preemptively address patient requirements.
- Acknowledges, relocates, and releases patients to transfer them to the pertinent facilities in accordance with the care plan.
- Assists individuals with their elimination-related concerns by delivering services like ostomy care, enema assistance, and condom catheter application to enhance their comfort.
- Supports the control of unit stock for supplies and equipment to promote a sanitary and protected environment following the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Confirms that vulnerable patients have the proper armbands, socks, and markers in place to protect their physical safety.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as needed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year of related experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
